As a long time friend to the musicians of the Detroit Symphony, we ask you to please reschedule your appearance here in order to avoid having to cross a picket line. We are grateful to the many artists and musicians around the world who have supported us in this horrible situation we find ourselves in. I still remember fondly your appearance with us in the July of 1991. The reason I remember the time so well it is that our first child was born only days before you arrived, and you seemed to genuinely share our excitement when I showed you Noah’s photo. Noah is now a sophomore in college, and one of two big reasons for me that this whole strike needs to end fairly. Thank you Bobby, we all look forward to seeing you under better circumstances!

In light of the recent events in Detroit with the DSO, I am wondering if Mr. McFerrin is going to cross the picket line to play his upcoming concert?

As much as I was looking forward to hearing Bobby, I will not attend ANY concerts at Orchestra Hall while the musicians are being treated so poorly. As a beloved ambassador of music who is respected by musicians and audiences worldwide, Bobby’s actions have weight. I am asking you to encourage him to consider this very carefully.

I’ve loved your music for years! I even dressed up as you for my 21st birthday party where the theme was ‘favourite musical legends of all time.’ I had a pretty cool combo of you and Ella Fitzgerald going on.
I was having coffee today with a friend who told me she’s singing in the European Chamber Choir with you in Germany…I was so jealous I nearly cried. But that got me thinking…You should totally come to South Africa where I live. Apparently Athena (above) thinks it’s a good idea too so it’s obviously meant to be. You have a MASSIVE amount of fans here and I’ll do whatever it takes to get you here. It truly is a majestic place with rich a vocal culture and history.

I love the way you bring out the music from your inside, your heart, your voice, and it is wonderfull to see you enjoing your singing. I want to met you and leran from you and sing with you too. I´m a Chilian singer, I love Jazz music and Scat. I want to learn more from improvisation and how to use the voice in relation with this. Tell me if you are giving lessons. Where and when.
